Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff and other parents and carers.
Research shows that children benefit when their parents or carers are actively involved in their education and school life.
You can help by:
- listening to children read in the classroom
- volunteering on sports days
- helping supervise excursions
- getting involved in fundraising activities
- joining school committees.
Getting involved with our performing arts
The involvement of parents in the Darlington Performing Arts program is essential in the advancement of the students' performance standards.
This help has included:
- attendance at external performances
- costume and prop design
- costume and prop construction or sewing
- donations ie. fabric, make-up, hairspray and so forth
- fund-raising for essentials such as costumes and props
- hair and make-up
- transport
The staff have on many occasions also helped with these things. We thank all those whose support has been so freely given and hope this will continue in the future.
